This is how he looked back in July this year, just after being groomed! :

This is a diary of Benji's homeopathic treatment for a very bad skin complaint, where he is losing his fur, has lumps, warts, a lot of redness, patchiness and his body, at times, feels like a hot water bottle.

The only problem Benji ever had with his skin was a hotspot he used to get every summer but always seemed to disappear once he'd been groomed, so we never really paid a lot of attention to it. This year, 2008, he was groomed, came back looking as lovely as ever but within a few months he had lost most of his fur, especially around his genital area; he also have numerous lumps and various warts: the lumps are mainly around his back area but the warts appear all over him, including the top of his head. His back area is certainly the worse.

In the lefthand column are the remedies he's had. A repertorisation is included above.

I can no longer see the white spot/lump and the black lump on his back, almost touching his tail, is half the size it was. However, he's got some wart-like growths on his back and on the top of his head, which weren't there before.

Over the past three nights he had become very restless. Normally he sleeps the night through but I could hear him moving around outside our bedroom door, where he sleeps in his basket, and then flopping down on the lino. If I got up in the night, he would run down stairs after me, go out in the garden and just stand there. Eventually he would come back in, go back in his basket, but then a little later on I'd hear him flop down on the lino again. However, tonight he slept fine. No moving around at all and even when I got up, he remained in his basket. He didn't scratch quite so much last night either, although I did notice him scratching his left ear when I went back to bed.

I've looked at his ear area but can't see nothing there.

He does have quite a few fleas on him, which, given his condition, isn't surprising.

He is virtually covered in warts; only his underneath seems to be free of them. Nux Vom repped the highest on the mentals. It does not cover warts, but it does have skin biting, eruptions biting etc., which is what's causing all the scab marks on Benji's back. It antidotes Sulphur, but is also complimentary to it.

The first night I gave Benji Nux Vom he didn't scratch at all. He has scratched during the day, but only the normal type of scratching that any normal dog would do.

As of today's date, Benji hasn't scratched excessively at all since giving him Nux Vom. All his warts seem to have gone. He has no lumps, except the black one he had near his tail, which I thought had gone, but it is really very small and you can just about feel it.

Started adding Spinach to his food. It is great for skin issues.
